Day 10 - Oklahoma, May 31

Flat Stanley started and finished at Ponco City. Stanley loves the mango/pineapple smoothie at McDonalds.

Did you know... the first parking meter was installed in Oklahoma in 1935.

Day 9 - Kansas, May 30

Started the ride at Coldwater Lake and finished West of Wellington. Flat Stanley found Dorothy's house from Wizard of Oz.

Did you know... at the University of Kansas, helium was discovered in 1905.

Day 8 - Texas, May 29

Stanley started and ended up in Dumas.

Did you know... the NASA headquarters are in Houston, Texas.  NASA headquaters piloted all U.S. space projects.

Day 7 - New Mexico, May 28

Began and ended the day near Cimarron. Sorry no pictures!

Did you know... Smokey Bear was buried in Smokey Bear Historical State Park in 1976.

Day 6 - Colorado, May 27

Began the day at Wolf Creek and ended at Fort Garland. Flat Stanley was intrigued with the Continental Divide.

Did you know... Colorado had the world's largest silver nugget.  Weighing in at nearly 1,900 pounds, it was found in 1894.

Day 5 - Arizona, May 26

Started the day at the intersection of Hwy 98/160 and ended up at Wolf Creek Pass. There was a terrible dust storm. Stanley did not pose for any pictures.

Did you know... Arizona has the most telescopes in the world.

Day 4 - Utah, May 25

Began ride in Ivins and ended the day at Lake Powell. Stanley got to visit Zion National Park, I'm jealous.

Did you know... Utah has the largest natural stone bridge in the world.  Rainbow Bridge stands 290 feet high and 275 feet across!

Day 3 - Nevada, May 24

The ride began near Henderson Airport and ended at Overton.

Did you know... Nevada is the driest state.  It has very rare fish from prehistoric lakes, and fish only found in Devils Hole.

Day 2 - California, May 23

Flat Stanley rode from Fresno to Bakersfield.

Did you know... California has a 3,500-year-old tree, General sherman, and a stand of bristlecone pines that are 4,000 years old.  They are the world's oldest living things.

Day 1- Hawaii, May 22

Flat Stanley sunbathing with the turtles in Kilauea.

Did you know... Hawaii has the only royal palace in the U.S., Lolani.
